Re:Lets try this again... - 2007/06/01 14:19 Well, well, well... hi to all from the proprietor of the infamous crack shack. Reading this forum is a lot like getting home early when you didn't expect me, or waking up in the middle of the night because of the noise, or once in awhile a phone call from the PD

Some of these entries made me laugh, some made me want to ask some questions, and some truly surprised me (like looking through the slats of the bedroom doors - I didn't even think tha was possible.!)

I remember the summer of the tent - it was my idea to put it up. Of course, I can't forget the igloo either. But I think Maggie exorcising the devil is the all time winner.

By the way, during the (in)famous summer of '98 I was 50 years old. How is that for a different perspective? Ever wonder what YOUR kids will be doing when you are 50?!?

I want to thank you for discreetly not mentioning anything I may have been doing in front of the kitchen window. Most likely, I was just trying to look out and figure out what was going on. Probably not cooking, right?

Looking back on it, the crack shack years were pretty special. I really loved all you kids, even though you may not have known it and I liked that you spent lots of time at our house - although Tim and I did lose a cumulative 4 years of sleep!

So, I do have a question - who ever named it the crack shack? Seems like after all these years someone should tell me.

Love to all you guys
From Jan (of "Jan and Tim are sleeping", or "Jan's home.")
p.s. I couldn't see the picture Eric supplied and I loved my globe. It meant world peace to me and I still believe it is possible.

Re:Lets try this again... - 2007/06/01 15:39 Now that I have discovered this - I keep thinking of funny stories - at least from my perspective!

One of my favorites is the night (one of many) that tons of friends were sleeping over. (BTW, did you guys know that Tim and I used to do the "body count" in the morning? We'd check the basement and living room to see how many sleeping bodies we had. I think the all time high (no pun intended) was 15 - except for the few times that a whole soccer team slept over.
Anyway, this time, Saunders and Piccone (I think) decided to try to tape porno onto a VHS. They put the tape in the VCR upstairs. I heard people in the living room and told them to go downstairs to watch TV. A few minutes later I heard them again and told them to go downstairs again. But I still could hear that the TV was on, so I went out to the living room to turn it off. I was confronted by a porno flick that some one had apparently rented and was trying to tape from the porno network to a VCR. So I left the recorder on, but I switched the channel to NIGHTLINE. Then I yelled downstairs not to come up again because we were getting really annoyed by being woken up.
The next morning, I could overhear everyone's surprise when the video went from porn to news!
Jan wins 1 - probably the only one!
