12px/normal Helvetica"> As the day progresses and I’ve gotten my daily workout in I’m more pumped up and need to keep the groove going. If I’m going to make it though the day, I’ve got to keep exciting right. I went through an old school faze last week and busted out some DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince. You know the album with Parents Just Don’t Understand on it. I’ve been skipping the old popular songs and going with some others; like, Here We Go Again, Brand New Funk, and Time to Chill. Go back into your old collection and try them out again. They’re still legit. Well, they keep me going anyway. I’ve also been blasting out some Motet. For those that don’t know the Motet, they are a Boulder, CO based band that label themselves “Electric Americubafrican Groove!” In fact Arts & Entertainment in Flagstaff, AZ said, “How can anyone relax with this monstrous jazzfunkafrocubanic sensation from Boulder, Colorado tearing the ceiling out with its soulful ruminations and all-out percussion free-for-all?” If that doesn’t convince you that the Motet brings it, I don’t know what will. A few of my favorites are Osain, Obatala, and Sunu. You’ve been blogged.

views and speaking about world issues, as I think everyone should form there own opinions based on facts and personal beliefs. Plus this is a music site, so why not stay on topic right? I’ll give it a whirl, while fitting music into my every day life. My life, the past few months, has been extremely different. It’s the first time that I can remember that I haven’t worked and it’s an odd feeling. I’ve always worked doing something or other since I can remember. I don’t know what to do with myself. Actually I do...search for another job. While I do my research for jobs and email every single person on the planet trying to find an in at every company I find interesting, something has to be playing in the background. It’s amazing how much music the day can hold and how much you need to find new music. If you’re not too opposed, I’d like to share a few artists with you and how they fit into my day. Here goes... The day starts around 8:00 AM. Yes I’m old and can’t sleep in anymore. My dog sleeps later than I do for goodness sakes. Anyways, I usually hit the computer and put on something mellow while I wake up, check email, and hit some news/sports sites. My beloved Patriots are one game away from perfection after all. I’ve been listening to Joe Purdy the last few weeks. He’s a folky guy that sounds a bit like a back country Ben Harper. I’m partial to his album Julie Blue. All the songs are good and I’d like to thing have good lyrics. I mean who doesn’t like the rain the most when it stops? His music makes me remember different times in my life. Usually the fishing trip I take with my dad, brothers, and a few friends every September. It makes me think of the sun coming up over the lake as I cast out over the calm pristine water trying not to smell my own stale beer breath from one too many the night before. Moving back to the album, my favorites are Whiskey and fish, I love the rain the most, and washed away. That’s all I’ve got time for right now. Well I’ve got time, but I don’t feel like typing any more. As I’m inspired I’ll come back and fill you in on the rest of my daily routine. God bless our troops and loved ones!

too. How did we d this you ask? Well, that gets into crazy math, algorithms and some other funky stuff but what you need to know is this. All you need to get started making money is a NetLiveMusic.com profile and a GOOGLE AdSense publisher Id. Here are the FAQs: How do I get paid by GOOGLE for having a NetLiveMusic.com (NLM) profile? It is easy, NLM has set it up so that the company will share its GOOGLE AdSense revenue from your profile and all your invites profiles, and all their invites, and all their invites, and all their invites with you! All you have to do is update your profile with your GOOGLE AdSense number and you will start earning revenue from GOOGLE. How are the revenues split? The users Adsense client Id will be working in the Ads in the percentage broken down below: Profile Owner- 10% 1st generation of invites -5% 2nd generation of invites -5% 3rd generation of invites- 10% 4th generation of invites- 20% NOTE**IMPORTANT** It is important to understand that the ad revenue may not be split exactly as the percentages above, it will all depend on what Adsense Client ID is working when a add is clicked on. This is based on an algorithm called a randomized weighted average. For now the only Ads that are involved in the revenue are the ones incorporated into the profile Adsense plug-in. Also, NLM has the right to change the percentages and the number of levels with out warning. What if I do not have a GOOGLE AdSense number? No problem. GOOGLE will give you an AdSense number for free as long as you have a web page with which to use the number that agrees with their TERMS and CONDITIONS. What if I don’t have a web site? You can use your NLM profile URL as your web site. Start by registering with NetLiveMusic.com: http://www.netlivemusic.com/component/option,com_advancedprofilecontrol/task,registers/ Once you have successfully completed the registration process, go to the GOOGLE AdSense page - http://www.google.com/adsense Click on the sign up icon. Fill out the registration from. When they ask for your web page give them your NLM profile URL. You can find this on your profile page where it reads Profile URL. Eg., www.NetLiveMusic.com/deadhead247 Once you complete the registration it will take a couple of days to receive your AdSense number. Now that you have your AdSense number, you need to edit your profile and enter your Adsense number in the Profile AdSense Tab. You can do this by logging into your profile, clicking on the Edit Icon, clicking on update profile, click on Profile AdSense Tab then enter your GOOGLE AdSense number in the AdSense Client ID space. Eg., pub-6914660469607631 Is their a Fee for any part of this process? NO. Who will pay me? GOOGLE. When do I get paid? GOOGLE will pay you as specified on their AdSense page. Log into your AdSense account then click on the link, When do I get paid? At the moment, GOOGLE will pay you once you have earned $100.00. Why does NetLiveMusic.com (NLM) want to share its GOOGLE AdSense revenue with me, my band, or my label? NLM wants to help Bands and Labels monetize their content and their fan base. One way to do this is to split ad revenues, with your label or band, that your band and your bands fans produce. Live music fans are invited to join in because it will produce more revenue for bands in the long run.

as Colin has posted an MP3 "Lonely Without You" from his latest debut "Are You lookin' at me?" Colin has also been gracious enough to post a great acoustic version of "Over Kill" an old Men at Work song that we are sure you will dig. Give Colin a listen here: http://www.netlivemusic.com/ColinHay
So, when Bush vetoed the stem cell bill today, he said two things that sound bizarre, even unreal to me. I feel like he and I are living in alternate universes that have completely different moral codes. In regard to using human embryos for stem cell research, he said, "I will not allow our nation to cross this moral line." I have to ask why this moral line is more important to him than all the other moral lines he has pulled this nation over. What about the moral line of preemptive war? Or the moral line of allowing torture? He also said that "destroying human life in hopes of saving human life is not ethical." If he actually believes that, then he needs to revamp his entire foreign policy, suspend his war on terror, and get rid of capital punishment. After all, isn't the war on terror based onkilling in order to save U.S. lives? Hasn't he found it necessary to kill terrorists in order to keep them from killing us? That's the rationale for the invasion of Iraq these days, isn't it. And when the rationale was WMD (remember way back then??), the idea was that we had to invade Iraq to in order to protect human life by getting rid of the WMD, and if we had to kill thousands of people in order to do so - well, that's just collateral damage, right?!? Somehow the life the unborn is far more sacred to Bush than the lives of the already born. He finds it morally acceptable to destroy a country; throw it into chaos and cause the deaths of thousands of innocent children for the sake of his political philosophy. But he does not find it acceptable to allow stem cells from embryos to be used to find cures for diseases. Trying to figure out what moral lines he will and won't cross is mind-boggling. More importantly, every time he crosses what many people consider to be sacred moral lines (preemptive war, use of torture), he pulls us across the line with him. So, today he has saved me from crossing a moral line in the service of easing the suffering of those afflicted with disabling disease, but every day for the past 4 years, he has pulled me across the line that has caused suffering and death for many thousands. I am willing to make a deal with him - no more use of embryonic stem cells if he stops all government-sponsored killing.
So, Hillary has tallied the results of the first vote of her campaign for the presidency. Her supporters (and maybe some who just wanted to throw off the results - think "vote for the worst" movement for Sanjaya) have chosen YOU and I by Celine Dion. I am wondering if the lyrics tell us anything about the type of president Hillary may be: "High above the mountains, far across the sea I can hear your voice calling out to me Brighter than the sun and darker than the night I can see your love shining like a light And on and on this earth spins like a carousel If I could travel across the world The secrets I would tell Chorus: You and I Were meant to fly Higher than the clouds We'll sail across the sky So come with me And you will feel That we're soaring That we're floating up so high Cause you and I were meant to fly Sailing like a bird high on the wings of love Take me higher than all the stars above I'm burning, yearning Gently turning round and round I'm always rising up I never Want to come back down" Sounds like it is meant to be positive and uplifiting which, I guess, are two good attributes in a campaign song. But, it doesn't get at the issues at all. If the whole point is just to bring some fun and humor into the campaign than I have to admit I liked Jon Stewart's "Let's Get Hillary" better. You can see a video of him performing this take-off on "Let's Get Physical" on her website. I think he is gently poking fun at the whole idea of a campaign song contest and I have to agree that it does seem rather silly. But, music can make you think and it can inspire people. Not the song she chose, however, which is just happy talk. I would prefer a song with lyrics that actually say something about the world situation, or at least refer in some way to the need for change! How about "I HOPE" from the Dixie Chicks? At least it talks about finding a different way. It gets my vote. Maybe Dennis Kucinch will use it. "Sunday morning, I heard the preacher say Thou shall not kill I don't wanna hear nothing else about killing And that it's God's will 'Cause our children are watching us They put their trust in us They're gonna be like us So let's learn from our history And do it differently I hope, for more love, more joy and laughter I hope, we'll have more than we'll ever need I hope, we'll have more happy ever after I hope, we can all live more fearlessly And we can lose all the pain and misery I hope, I hope Oh, Rosie, her man he gets too rough That's all she can say, is he's a good man He don't mean no harm He was just brought up that way But our children are watching us They put their trust in us They're gonna be like us It's okay for us to disagree We can work it out lovingly I hope, for more love, more joy and laughter I hope, we'll have more than we'll ever need I hope, we'll have more happy ever after I hope, we can all live more fearlessly And we can lose all the pain and misery I hope, I hope There must be a way to change what's going on No I don't have all the answers I hope, for more love, more joy and laughter I hope, we'll have more than we'll ever need I hope, we'll have more happy ever after I hope, we can all live more fearlessly And we can lose all the pain and misery I hope, I hope I hope, I hope, I hope " I hope so too. This election needs to be about peace, the environment and economic justice. If it is only a change of political parties, without a substantial change of policy, than it will be politics as usual. The children of the world deserve better!
This is a great live track from a great up-and-coming San Diego Reggae band you most definitly need to check out. You can find it here: http://www.netlivemusic.com/Diego Roots
