Bush's moral code is hard to understand

So, when Bush vetoed the stem cell bill today, he said two things that sound bizarre, even unreal to me. I feel like he and I are living in alternate universes that have completely different moral codes.

In regard to using human embryos for stem cell research, he said, "I will not allow our nation to cross this moral line."

I have to ask why this moral line is more important to him than all the other moral lines he has pulled this nation over. What about the moral line [...]

So, Hillary has tallied the results of the first vote of her campaign for the presidency. Her supporters (and maybe some who just wanted to throw off the results - think "vote for the worst" movement for Sanjaya) have chosen YOU and I by Celine Dion.

I am wondering if the lyrics tell us anything about the type of president Hillary may be:

As The Sopranos comes to a close tomorrow night, I find myself wondering what music David Chase will choose to play as the credits role on the final episode. He once said that he could have scored the entire series using the music of Bob Dylan, Elvis Costello and the Rolling Stones (2 of my favorites are in that group). Sometimes I get so discouraged about the state of the world that I think the only thing that can bring people together is music.

I think the world needs a collective change of consciousness - away from the politics of domination, supremacy and power.

I think one thing that really helps bring people together is music. Right now I keep thinking about "Imagine" by John Lennon.

Colin Hay's concert at the Brattle Theater in Cambridge last week was a great time. He's got a great voice, great picking and a great personality. If he couldn't sing and play, you'd still want to listen to his stories. His wife Cecelia Noel added some hot vocals.

Lazlo Bain opened for him, and they were a nice surprise. Quirky, classy, real.
